Herstory Portrait: Wangari Maathai (1940 – 2011) was a Kenyan environmental activist. She founded the Green Belt Movement in the 1970s seeking to promote environmental conservation in Kenya and Africa. She became the first African woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 2004 for “her contribution to sustainable development, democracy and peace.”

I will keep making these, my husband had a great idea to make them into a deck of cards. That means 52! I shall do one a week. But, it’s back to surface design for me – I miss it and it’s what I want to focus on for this challenge. 🙂
